Optimization for low end devices (CCWGTV etc)

Would be great to have more optimization for low end devices, such as the chromecast.

I don't think the graphics is the problem since chromecast 4K easily can display 4K movies and stream 4K games on GFN.

Hello - whether the chromecast can decode 4k streams is irrelevant to Dispatch's UI performance. This is because chromecasts, and all modern devices, use specific hardware decoders for decoding video and audio.

This is what is known as "hardware decoding" or "hardware acceleration" for video. It's this exact reason that such low powered devices such as the chromecast are able to decode 4k video at all, because it is not the actual main cpu doing the decoding. If it were, then these devices would never be able to decode such video streams.

Apps and games use the cpu / gpu to render, and the pipeline is completely separate from that which decodes your video and audio files or streams.

So in summary, just because a device can decode 4k or even 8k video, it does not say anything about its ability to render complex UIs, animations, images, or effects.
