Experimental video player: Opening the Android settings menu causes the video player to close

Opening the settings overlay on the Nvidia Shield (double press the menu button on the remote) causes the video stream to immediately close. The video stream should continue playing (like SmartTube) or pause (like most other streaming apps). Continued playback is my preference, but I can see how that might be more difficult to implement.

Longer-term, if possible, it would be nice if the video player appeared in the recent apps menu on Android versions that support this. That way, we can navigate between video playback in Dispatch and any other app with ease.
