Limited navigation with dpad

OS: Android TV 12

Navigation through menus is limited with dpad. Home screen and most of settings works as expected, but I cannot move through settings "sections". E.g. in "General > Favorite Apps" screen I can only select "Enable App Peek" or "Immersive Mode" (both in "Options" section), I cannot move to "Favorite Apps" section to modify them.

The workaround is to send tab key event (e.g. adb shell input keyevent TAB). Once next section is in focus, I can navigate it with dpad, but cannot go up to previous section with "dpad up" button, I have to use "back" button on remote to move focus back to previous section.

Same issue appears in:

  1. "General > Home & Wallpaper > Personalize Media Feed > Sort Order".

  2. During initial setup when launcher asks if you want to setup plex connection - I couldn't choose "skip plex configuration" button with dpad, had to use tab keyevent workaroud.

    This issue occurs when Text Scaling on the device is set to lower than 100%.

    Hello! Can you check if your Text Scaling in Accessibility is set to anything other than 100? I've seen reports of dpad issues in dispatch when it is not the default. I myself was able to reproduce similar, though not in the same place, behaviour when setting the scaling to 85%. The ones higher worked as expected.

    It's something I'll be looking into. Thanks!

      Paul Dhaliwal I had text scaling set to 85%, after switching to 100% the issue disappears. 115% and 130% work as expected as well. Thanks
