Metadata generating after standby
Version: 0.9.0 (build: 42)
Device model: BRAVIA 4K UR2
Device RAM: 2301 MB
Each time the TV wakes from sleep longer than ~30 minutes, it will show a toast saying 'Refreshed content'. This behaviour might be expected. However, it also starts regenerating metadata, even if no new Plex items are added. The generation of metadata takes a couple of minutes (about 5-10).
Current behaviour
Each time the TV wakes from standby, it will check for new content, then it will regenerate metadata that takes several minutes.
Expected behaviour
Each time the TV wakes from standby, it will check for new content, then it will only regenerate metadata if there actually is new and requires regeneration.

This should be fixed in previous recent releases

Actually, I think this is more a messaging problem between the GUI and the job scheduler. It's very unlikely that the system is actually generating new metadata at that point, however, the message about generating metadata is not being updated correctly (or quickly enough). I will work on improving this. Thanks!

Paul Dhaliwal It does actually seem to be generating new metadata. Especially when the "More in X" or "More with actor X" sections change. These sections will show "Generating metadata" too.

Ricardo Snoek-Valkenburg Hi just wanted to follow up on this:
Do you notice this mostly during specific times of the day? Re-reading your initial report, I'm a little puzzled regarding the more in x or more with actor y generating metadata behaviour. These particular rows are only supposed to be updated once per day, usually after midnight. They should not be populated with new content throughout the day so it's definitely bizarre that you're seeing new content + metadata bring generated when you wake the device from sleep.
The only situation where this should happen is if the list for the day hasn't completed generating it's metadata yet and never gets the chance to for some reason.
On your device, does it seem like metadata is basically being generated all day / every time you wake up the device? Thanks!

Paul Dhaliwal I have been away for a few weeks so I will check again to see if I can find any logic to when it happens. I remember it happening basically all the time when TV wakes from deep sleep. But to be honest I have no idea about the sleep process of the TV, I have the idea it has two types of 'standby'.
