Plex currently watching not syncing with plex/No stream on dashboard

I started playing a movie from the sci-fi recommended section, when i checked the details i saw it was playing from my plex server and i wanted to pick up where i was watching from on my phone.

Upon checking my phone it wasn’t appearing in the continue watching section like it normally would, i again double checked that the stream was direct playing from my server as it was the plex interface and i checked the bitrate details.

Next i went to my plex dashboard on my phone and i could not see the stream playing at all but it was defiantly playing on my tv.

There seems to be some communication issue with the launched and plex.

    This is actually a bug with the Plex app itself. It exists on the Android TV launcher as well. Essentially, when you ask Plex to "direct play" an item from the launcher, it sometimes fails to report playback progress to the Plex server.

    The only known solution if you are having this issue is to press the info button instead, which will take you to the info screen of the selected item, and then press Play when inside Plex.
